YEAR OF THE RABBIT & CAT CALENDAR (2023)

2022 was an immensely difficult year for us. Despite the challenges, we followed through with our mission and commitment to community: to create accessible popular education. To that end, we hosted two community study groups: one on capitalism, gentrification, and the root causes of the housing crisis; and another one on the interconnection between U.S. militarism in the Asia Pacific, the Asian Financial Crisis, K-pop, and neoliberalism.

At the end of the year, we were faced with the decision whether to produce another calendar, given the high amount of time and energy it would require. We decided to go ahead, as staying connected to our culture is a pillar of Sông2Sea, and we were really encouraged by the positive reception we received the first year.

We are so honored and happy to have had your support in this project. Despite the long hours, we are thrilled to have raised over $9,000, and this enabled us to support community members in need and mutual aid groups doing critical work. We are pleased to share this report with you, including statistics from the creation process and sales, where the proceeds went, praise, and lessons learned.
