ABOUT

Sông2Sea is a multi-ethnic anti-imperialist organization based in the Puget Sound Coast Salish area, with ancestral connection to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and Asia Pacific. Sông means river in Vietnamese. In our name, sông represents the rivers that run through our homelands and connect to the Puget Sound via the Pacific Ocean.

Our community work is grounded in political and cultural education and collaboration with other community organizations to build greater collective power. We host study groups in the spirit of popular education, popularized by Paulo Freire, which seeks to create “education for critical consciousness” for poor and politically disempowered people, grounded in notions of class struggle and social transformation.
